PEDAGOGICAL TEAM
The team of teachers, all of whom are former students, work in a collegial way as Jacques Lecoq wished. They divide their schedule between the classes they give in the school and their commitment to the theatre world, as an actor, director or playwright. This enables them to stay in touch with contemporary theatre and nourish their teaching ideas and share them with the students.

After a degree in physical education and sport adapted for the handicapped at UFR‐STAPS in Lyon and a theatrical training with the Macocco‐Lardenois Compagny, she studied at the Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq between 2002-2004 and the teacher-training year in 2007. She has been teaching at the Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq since 2011.
Moreover Anne Astolfe has taught at the National Circus School of Rosny–sous-Bois from 2008 to 2012 and at the Drama school of Champigny-sur-Marne for 10 years.
As a stage director she founded in 2009 « LE LAABO », laboratory of research around movement and play, based on writing in a workshop situation. The result of this research was the first drama of « LE LABOO » created in 2012 : « HOLD ON » – which was the favourite play of the OFF Avignon Festival according to « LE MASQUE ET LA PLUME » (France Inter radio). This play is currently on tour.
In 2015 Anne set up the 2nd play of the (EX) LIMEN Company. This play was performed at the FERME DU BUISSON (National Theatre of Marne la Vallée) during the Festival « LES ENFANTS DU DÉSORDRE ».
In 2016, Anne collaborates with the label – living theatre ATLAST- and she is going to direct « LE CIRCAETE », a drama inspired by the comic strip of Manu Larcenet: PRESQUE. This play will be performed in April 2017 during the PULP Festival at the FERME DU BUISSON.
For the coming 2016-2017 season the LAABO will also be associated with the THÉÂTRE DE CHÂTILLON, thus inviting its public all through the season around its latest project: RUSH.

After obtaining a degree in Joint Honours Drama and Technical Theatre from University of Cumbria in England, François came to Paris and completed the professional course as well as the LEM at the École Internationale de Theatre Jacques Lecoq (2012-2014).
His research lies in devising original work that blends narrative and acrobatic movement in a striking visual language. He founded Tooth and Nail Theatre Company in 2014, an international company based in the UK, whose work has toured internationally across the UK, Europe and further afield, to the United States of America, Australia and Nepal, amongst others.
François continually seeks to develop his research by collaborating with practitioners across various art forms to explore new avenues of movement, including artists, sculptors, puppeteers, and working with acrobatics and tumbling companies, most intensively with UK- based Polichinelo Circus (2016-2017).
Since graduating from Lecoq, François has developed his approach to teaching; for the last five years he has worked closely with theatre companies, drama schools and universities internationally, with a focus on Tooth and Nail’s research into exploring language through movement.
François decided to deepen his research into teaching by pursuing the teacher training year at École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in 2018, and joined the teaching staff upon completion.

Finally she completed the third pedagogical year during the 2015-2016 season and joined the team of teachers the next season.
In parallel, she follows the professional puppeteer training at “Théâtre aux Mains Nues” where she is also teaching since 2015.
Yasuyo is active as a pedagogue since 2006 and runs ateliers and workshops in different countries (France, Japan, Ireland, Great Britain) always related to body, movement and objects.

Born in 1961 in Milan (Italy). After a long journey that finally led her to a theatre where Jacques Lecoq was performing his lecture « Everything Moves », she enrolled in the school in Paris and followed the 2 year programme between 1983-1985.
She also studied with Philippe Gaulier, Monika Pagneux, Alain Gautré and Guy Freixe. She founded with Christian Lucas two companies : « Felix Culpa » centered on burlesque and « Caza House » centered on puppets and visual theatre.
Parallel to her acting career, under the direction of Philippe Desboeuf, Bernard Mallek and Jacky Pellegrini, she continued to deepen her research about puppets and objects, especially with Pierre Blaise of the « Théâtre sans toit » and Gilbert Epron of « Le Grand Manipule ». After working with different publics, she turned her attention to the circus world (ENACR and CNAC) and eventually became a stage and ring director with companies such as « Nova Nova », « Caroline Obin », « Nö », « d’Elles » and « Scabreuse », to name a few. She still continues this activity searching for the encounter between play and expert movement. After a Summer workshop at the school in 1995 Jacques Lecoq asked her to become part of the teaching staff.
Jacques Lecoq’s vision, whether it be through pedagogy, acting, or directing, to form a complete actor-creator-mime and poet, remains a fundamental support, nevertheless in perpetual motion.
