INITIATION COURSES

Thought of as a journey through the main themes of Jacques Lecoq’s pedagogy, the initiation course is meant for young people with too little experience to apply for the professional course and to any person wishing to get familiar with the school’s pedagogy.
As in the professional course, the classes will be divided between movement analysis, improvisation and the students’ devised work.

Two initiation courses will take place for the 2025-2026 season:

– Initiation courses in Avignon: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 pm to 9 pm

at the old fire station

– Initiation courses in Paris: Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm

at Les Tréteaux de France – CDN

  • Physical preparation
  • Movement analysis
  • Replay and silent play
  • Neutral Mask
  • Full masks (larval, utilitarian, etc.)
  • Constraints of space and time
  • Characters

Schedule

The season is divided into three terms, from October to June. There is two weeks of vacation, one in winter and one in spring.

In Aubervilliers:

Trial class on October 13th

1st trimester : Monday 13 October – Wenesday 17 December + week-end 18/19 October

2nd trimester : Monday 5 January – Wenesday 25 March + week-end 14/15 February

3ème trimester : Monday 6 April – Wenesday 27 May + week-end 30/31 May

In Avignon:

Trial class on October 6th

1st trimester : 6 October – 10 December + a week-end

2nd trimester : 5 January – 11 March + a week-end

3rd trimester: 6 April – 20 May + a week-end

Application

  • a detailed curriculum vitae (with your adress, date and place of birth)
  • a cover letter
  • two recent photos: a portrait and one from top to toe (JPG format)

The classes are taught in French, so a basic knowledge of the language is required.

Prices

In Aubervilliers:

1900€: 600€ by trimester and 100€ inscription fees

Payment by three bank checks

In Avignon:

1450€: 450€ by trimester and 100€ inscription fees

Payment by three bank checks

For the students of the University of Avignon and the University of Montpellier: 810€ (270€ by trimester)
